With the incessant advancement of technology especially the advent of machine learning and artificial intelligence, the cognizance in the use of UAV application has grown significantly for several purposes such as military attack and combat roles, monitoring and surveillance, constructions and recently for agricultural purposes. Farming has taken a new approach for long time whereby artificial intelligence, machine learning and precision farming are deployed in order to increase productivity, reduce time and save cost. Artificial intelligence and machine learning have employed the use of UAV into precision farming that help farmers improve their farming activities efficiently. These involves crop growth and health monitoring, seedling, spraying of water, fertilizer and pesticides, etc. This will provide timely protection of crops and assessing its growth and production. This research focuses on the use of UAV to perform specific precision agricultural functions like fertilizer and pesticides spraying that can help boost agricultural practice in Nigeria. Survey and classification of existing works were done and then perceptions for future research were established.
